The equipment arrived, a subcontracted crew mounted it where the walls made it easy, and nobody explained what any of it did. When something faulted two years later, the phone number led to a queue. The alternative we built is unglamorous and it works. A badged technician comes to the house, walks it properly, and designs the layout in front of you.
